This series is great for the small or new landowner to know all the ins and outs of owning land in rural areas. You can attend all workshops for $50 or $75 for a couple, or each workshop is $15. A meal will be served, so please call to let us know you will be coming, 409-835-8461. The first in the series will be held March 7 with the topic being “Meet Your Local Resources”. The Appraisal District will be a guest speaker and will answer questions on Ag Exemptions, etc.
March 21 will focus on Pond Management with a speaker from our office, and also have a speaker from Texas Forestry Service.
April 4 a specialist from A&M will focus on Forage, Weed and Brush Management Strategies.
April 18, Speakers will focus on Stocking Rates for Livestock and Financial Strategies on the Farm.
May 9, our speaker will review Horticulture Crop Production in our county.
May 23, a review of Agricultural Pesticide Applicators requirements, Continuing Education requirements, and everything you wanted to know about a applicator license.
